Closing An Account

Clients can close their account with Electric Bricks and terminate any hosting & maintenance services or other recurring services at any time. If the client is moving their site to a new hosting provider and does not have the ability to retrieve their own website files from Electric Bricks servers, a full backup of all site files and database can be delivered electronically to the client at the cost of two hours at the Electric Bricks current hourly rate (billed in advance).

If the client would like Electric Bricks to install the website files and database on a new, compatible, third-party hosting account after account termination, a minimum of 4 hours at the Electric Bricks current hourly rate (billed in advance) will be charged.

Please review our Content Ownership & Intellectual Property policy for more information.

Invoicing for Hosting & Maintenance (H&M)

  • Unlike other services, such as site content updates, social media management, blogging, SEM management, etc., H&M fees are charged in advance. This is a standard industry practice.
  • H&M fees are typically charged quarterly.
  • Invoices for H&M are sent out 30 days before the quarter in which they cover and are due before the start of that quarter.
    • 1st quarter H&M invoices are sent out on December 1st of the previous year.
    • 2nd quarter H&M invoices are sent out on March 1st.
    • 3rd quarter H&M invoices are sent out on June 1st.
    • 4th quarter H&M invoices are sent out on September 1st.
  • Failure to pay H&M fees will result in the removal of the website from our servers.
    • Once a site has been removed from our servers, there will be a fee of two hours at the Electric Bricks current hourly rate to restore it (paid in advance) once the account has been brought up to date.

Google Ads Monthly Account Management

Monthly Google Ads account management is charged at 20% of monthly ad spend with a minimum of $200/month:

  • i.e., a client spending $2,000 on Google Ads pays Electric Bricks $400 per month to manage all campaigns using that budget. This fee covers all keyword, ad text, and budget optimization for existing campaigns, ad groups, and ads.

This fee does not cover campaign expansion.

Campaign Expansions for Google Ads

Clients with an established Google Ads account that is currently managed by Electric Bricks may occasionally need to add new additional campaigns, ad groups, or ads to address changes in their market, to advertise new products or services, or to expand into new geographic areas, among other things. This is known as a “campaign expansion” and requires your Electric Bricks campaign specialist to do the necessary competitive and budgetary research for these additional campaigns, as well as write new ad copy, build new keyword lists, etc. This type of work is different from the typical monthly campaign management they perform, where they perform ad text and keyword optimization, report on and summarize campaign performance, troubleshoot issues with existing campaigns, and make the necessary changes to stay in compliance with the ever-changing Google advertising requirements.

The Difference Between Campaign Management and a Campaign Expansion

Monthly campaign optimization (management) is charged at 20% of monthly ad spend (minimum of $200/month) – so, for example, a client spending $2,000 per month on Google Ads pays Electric Bricks $400 per month to manage all campaigns using that budget. This monthly recurring fee does not cover a campaign expansion – it covers the time spent each month managing the current campaigns, ad groups, and ads, but not adding new ones.

Expanding a campaign does not require a whole new setup, but there are hours of work that need to be done. Your Google Ads specialist will discuss any expansion you’re considering and will give you an hourly estimate for the campaign expansion. If you decide to move forward with the campaign expansion, you will be charged for the number of hours it takes to perform this work at our current hourly rate.

Site Uptime

Electric Bricks does not host any website at any Electric Bricks-owned facility or on Electric Bricks-owned servers. We use some of the most trusted names in the website hosting industry on managed VPS (virtual private servers) and other server platforms. These private servers are only for Electric Bricks clients and are very reliable, fast, and secure. That being said, issues do and will come up that may cause a site to perform slowly or even go down for a short period of time. These issues are usually out of our control and may be related to a variety of factors, including (but not limited to):

  • Server or networking issues at the hosting provider
  • Hacker/malicious activity, including DDOS (distributed denial of service) attacks
  • A sharp increase in site traffic
  • Software bugs in WordPress or 3rd party plugins
  • Site owner/user error

We also use a variety of tools to monitor the site health for all of our H&M (hosting & maintenance) clients, so when an issue arises, we are usually aware of it immediately. Once we are aware of an issue, we are in direct contact with the support personnel at our hosting providers, and we stay on top of the issue until it is resolved. This usually takes only a few minutes but can occasionally take longer.

These types of issues are very rare, but they do happen. Electric Bricks does not make any guarantees of uptime due to the fact that there are far too many things out of our control. Needless to say, we understand how important your website is to you and your business and what you to know that uptime is our #1 priority for all H&M clients.
